Could you not just buy some heavy duty hook and loop/velcro and use between the toggles to ease the draughts,

Are you saying your tent has mud flaps and a loose groundsheet, rather than a SIG or ZIG, but you want to extend the loose groundsheet up the walls of the tent a bit, then sit your bedroom inners on top?
Which tent is it and what size internally?
Do you want to achieve something like this?
