Does anyone who owns a Air 6XL also have the porch too ?
They are reduced at the moment on Blacks and thinking it would be a great addition to the tent to increase floor space / coverage.
Only found 1 photo online of it fitted to the 6xl, just wonder if there’s any other owners out there who could share some photos / their experience.
Thanks
Only photo i can find with it fitted.

Congratulations on your new porch and please let us know how you get on with it. Berghaus air tent stories are a bit under represented on UKCS for some reason, so it would be good to know your experiences.
Hey Tourer, just wondered how you got on with the 6XL and Porch? We've recently purchased both with a view to getting our young family into camping, wasn't going to bother with the porch but again they were on sale, so I figured might as well acquire now incase of future need. Any advice and experience comments or advice you have with 6XL and/or porch would fab!

Hello,
We have not been away yet with the tent and porch, though will be using both at the end of May so will take some photos and report back.
I like you, decided it was best to get the porch to future proof (colour scheme etc) plus giving max space.

I bought porch for an air 8. Used in windy conditions last week. One of the tubes had a leak so was flat, that contributed to the problems. Main issue was noise due to the flapping of the overapron, rain also drove under the door which had to be pegged close during the storm. The supplied Pegs were also too short and pulled out in the storm which tries to lift the porch.
Pros?
Useful addition to my tent, lots of space, comes with a groundsheet (take it up in driving rain!) will try it again - could it be improved? Yes.
We have just spent a week in very windy wet conditions in a berghaus 6xl tent withstood 50 mph winds and kept us completely dry am looking to buy the porch can it only be fitted to side doors

Not sure if anyone has had problems with the Berghaus Air 6 porch. Ours has a number of design flaws - which may have been addressed by subsequent models or the XL version.
The overlap cannot be effectively tensioned as the guy line tensioners do not grip and an additional guy line is required in the centre. Anything over 20mph wind it flaps like crazy.
The sides do not sit well over the main tent tubes - and when rains it drips down into tent. Potential solution addition tension at each side.
The overflap does not seem to be quiet wide enough to cover the two middle tubes - this may have been resolved in later models.
I would approach with caution if you are considering getting one - to check these design flaws have been addressed.
If anyone has had similar issues I would love to learn how you have a tackled it. The product has a lifetime guarantee- but at the moment Berghaus say it is Blacks and Blacks say it is Berghaus- so little joy with them at the moment.
I have air 8 and also have porch. Porch has always been problematic mainly because of a leaking air tube letting us down pre and post repair and having used insufficient pegs ( i.e. those supplied) on the two tensioning straps in heavy winds. Id trust the tent in a storm however at the moment the porch is a fair weather option. I've tried it over both doors of the air 8 and it's always a compromise / doesn't fit obviously better on either . If you do use it in a storm I think you have to Peg the door closed as well and use the other door (if you have one) . I'm trying Delta pegs on it this time.
I also have the air 8 with the porch and my findings are pretty much the same.
If you already have a berghaus tent, then Id say buy the porch, it provides useful extra space, but dont expect it to be water tight as theres no way of lining it up properly against the tent, rain will always get in down the sides where it meets the tent and youll need to peg your ground sheet back.
If you dont already have a berghaus tent, then beware of the limitation of the porch, its OK and I wouldnt be without mine, but it does feel like it was designed as a bit of an afterthought.
