Has anyone seen this in the flesh?

It seems to tick all my boxes bar one, which I will get to shortly..

Poly-cotton
Airbeam
Sturdy
Spacious

The one thing I do need is 8 birth. So, I assume this will do the trick?

https://www.vango.co.uk/gb/tent-additions/797-universal-inner.html#da-moreinfo

Any thoughts on this tent?

Should I consider the ILLUSION AIR TC 800XL or maybe a Kampa Studland 8?

One thing I have noticed is that the seperate inner tent on the 800XL is 140cm wide so can fit a double airbed, the "Universal" one is only 120cm, do vango sell the 140cm ones seperately, if not, the 800XL might be the only way to go.

Thanks.

Hi. we've just bought the Studland 8 Air Pro at the NEC show. Got the whole package for just over £1000 and they included the Kampa Sabreflex light starter kit. Massive tent but quite heavy at 47kg. I saw the Anantara at the show but it didn't quite work for our needs, plus i couldn't justify the huge price tag when the Kampa had everything we wanted.
Please bear in mind the weight, the Anantara TC 600xl weighs nearly 63kg. I struggle to lift the Studland on my own!

I've just taken delivery of the Vango Anantara Tc. I'm going to weather it this weekend. I haven't seen it in the flesh yet but I'll post an update once I've erected it this weekend.

Hi. Did you get the opportunity to put it up this weekend and did you take any pics? I'm pondering this tent as well.

Hope you are pleased with it.

All the best

Attwools have got the Anantara in their showroom. It’s a really nice looking tent and has similar finishing quality to the most recent Outwell air tents, it looks modern and new.

I ended up buying the Kampa Studland poly cotton as I got it on a very good deal through Camping World in their October 2018 sales, but I was very close going for the Anantara. I particularly liked the storm door entrance at the front in to the tent wet zone, most others have the storm entrance in to the dry zone, well for Outwell Vermont and Kampa Studland style tents anyway.

Hi All,

Had my Anantara a few weeks, weathered it couple of weekends ago, got to say even more impressed with it pitched in garden than in the showroom. Couldn’t really get that true benefit of the TC without a breeze blowing. (No noise....!). Really impressed, set up all our kit, lighting the lot. First trip away planned for over Easter - 4 nights. Let’s just say we counting down the days. We were considering the outwell stone lake, but the inside is bland and specification very poor, rumours were true about Outwell reducing speci to reduce cost. - Mistake Outwell, I’d of paid the money for better speci

It does seem like Vango are clearing house this year with the Anantara in the "high end" category.

The thing is, I think they have priced it very well and with Outwell "down speccing", Vango find themselves in a good spot and that was before the Outwell recall.

I can see the Anantara selling out before the end of the season as there is no competition for it. The Stone Lake is not even close.

I personally think Outdoor Revolution are a better alternative to Outwell this year.

The key battle is the £500 - £1000 polyester category and that is much more tightly contested but again, Outdoor Revolution are a good shout, if they can market themselves more aggressively and can maintain the same standard, they can give Kampa a run for their money.

Agree, I looked at every manufacturer, granted we all have our own needs from a tent, but as an all rounder, regardless of if your inside or out, the Anantara for me is the winner hands down. Some will say the weight is a down side, but lefts face it, if you’ve gone for a 6 man tent, it generally says your not camping alone.....
And if your camping with a family, you’ve got an estate car or trailer, so why would the size/weight matter? I can drag mine around on the grass in wheeled bag no problem.

Fully agree.

I doubt anyone is buying a 6+ man polycotton tent with "size/Weight" being an issue.

We are coming from "car camping" with a Kampa Croyde 6 and children under 4 and will be Roof box/Trailer camping from next year with bigger family in tow.

For my money, the Stone Lake is an early April fools joke from Outwell.

Kampa, I love BUT, they compromise to get their price point and Vango have priced soo aggressively, the compromises are not worth the few hundred quid on a personal level. For some, yes, it may be a deal breaker, but we are not talking Kampa Vs OutWell Tax here.

The Anatara TC can be had for £1700 with foot print and carpet if you look around. I've still not managed to get my Anantara out to weather yet and I'm going away in it next weekend!
