Yes, badly, and someone has paid £196.00 for it. Previous items also show mildew and described as tree sap or just marks from use.

A line from their website, “Sometimes there are marks from tree sap but these add to the patina and feel of a tent. We do not get involved with tents that have serious mould issues.”

Err, oh yes you do...

That phrase (I'm pretty sure) was used by the person selling the pyramid I bought recently...as someone ignorant about dutch pyramid tents...this was, though, pretty much as described to me(clean, almost unmarked, fresh), apart from a tiny bit of inner tent damage not mentioned and very easily repaired...
The vendor mentioned including some de Waard carpet, but what came was some (plenty!) of rubberised sticky feeling large mesh (looked like the stuff you use to stop plates sliding around on a boat?). Strange....
But anyway, in my case, it looks a nice clean tent: we'll see next year!!

That seller is still at it: is currently advertising a Cabanon Pyramide at £295.00 which was sold last week at £108.66, using the original photos. Claims 'Only a few light spots on the canvas. Nothing significant. Chances are most of them will wash off with a bit of rain.'

Haha, it gets even better:

'All in excellent condition with no repairs required Please look at the last photo though. The two lengths of stitching within the red circles have been unpicked at some time. This is because this part forms a small canopy, but this gets in the way when the Cabanon awning is in use. This is a common modification that could be reversed with little difficulty.'

A common modification, to unpick stitching? Really?!

IF.....this is the same seller who sold me my pyramid; I have to say he was very helpful with all my questions prior to purchase, and the tent was as described?

Just seen this popped up as a thread with new posts, and I hope it is acceptable to ask for help with regard to selling my ESVO Bedouin 340 via eBay please.

I have only listed it and associated accessories for sale via UKCS, and am going to list it on eBay.

I would be grateful if anyone could advise whether I should also list the tent package in eBay sites in FR, NL and DE to gain more exposure etc...

I am willing to deliver it at a public location near the Channel Tunnel port in Calais such as Cité Europe while movement between UK and Mainland Europe remains as business as usual.

Thanks for your help in advance, and apologies for the thread-jack.

A De Waard tent don't need to waterproof! When it leaks, its stay 40 weeks or more, so end off his lifetime.

Exactly! This chap presents himself as a business buying selling these tents but doesn’t seem very knowledgable....
Having said that, some of his look ok as long as you know what you’re buying....generally very high use.
Hopefully if he is going to re proof he will state it in the listing so people who know can avoid.
Also some pics he describes as tree sap are what I call mildew...😕

I would avoid and buy direct from Netherlands...honest detailed knowledgeable description and you’ll pay less even with carriage.

I bought mine direct...less than he is selling for and in perfect, little used condition.

I hope you don’t mind me jumping on the post but I’m desperately looking for some advice about shipping a tent from the Netherlands to the UK. I’ve found a perfect tent but all the shipping is sooo expensive. Thank you

Normally the buyer pays the tent and shipping cost to my, and i orginise the shipping. Packing the tent correctly and taking it to a depot is a bit of work, not everyone wants to do this.

the black stripes are not mildew, but soot stripes. Many tents that have been on the coast have these stripes.
This trader buys up tents in the Netherlands for little money and sells them mainly to Asia. From experience I can say that he treated tents with mildew with bleach, and hid this in his ads!
