Hello :)

We currently have a pennine pullman folding camper. For many reasons we have decided that we are going to sell it this year. However, I'm not sure I want to give up camping altogether and as a caravan isn't an option I'm looking at tents, we had a tent before the folder.

Kids are nine and nearly 13 (boy & girl). OH is disabled so ideally I need something that I can put up myself or with minimal help. I like the look of bell tents as these only have one pole but I'm a bit put off by the lack of bedrooms/privacy and needing to put up some sort of kitchen tent/dining shelter.

I'm not convinced by air tents as apart from being expensive I hear lots of stories about leaks, pooling water etc but feel free to prove me wrong!

Any suggestions or recommendations appreciated.

Thanks

You may struggle to erect a larger tent on your own, so have you thought about buying two smaller tents?

You could erect them facing each other and have a canopy between the two.

That's a brilliant idea thank you!

Having two tents would also mean the other half and I could go without the kids when they get a bit older.

We could probably manage to put up a smaller poled tent between us.

Do you know if the coleman event shelters are ok or is there something better that would connect the tents?

I was thinking about something like this to bridge the two tents facing each other.

Two poles at the front and your done.

Cheaper than the Coleman option, and far more versatile.
