Hello
New person here..Very interesting and informative site ..happy to have found you!
Hoping someone can advise me on what new tent to buy.. I have read so many reviews this last week or two I am totally befuddled and no further forward..and not sure the tent I need actually exists!!
I'm a sixty two year old widow.. a bit creaky and arthritic and go camping on my own..but my pop up big Quechua (which for a cheapy tent has been great really for more than ten years and never once leaked) ..I just can't fight it any more!! I live in France and like to go off for long exploring camping/ touring trips in my car
...staying a few days here and there.. I need a tent that is easy to put up on my own..( and take down.. without a fight) I'd like some head room and a bit of shelter for my table..I'd also like a fly sheet! I quite liked the look of the Slumit Grizzly but it isn't very high..plus it says you need to be six foot with good upper body strength to put it up..What does that mean ? I don't think I'm weak but I'm hardly Mrs Universe..
Sooo I have looked at all sorts and now might even be considering an air tent.
but I'm not convinced..they look all wrinkly in the reviews..a bit like me really! I'd like to spend maybe £300- £400..but would stretch a bit further for my perfect tent! Any advice please.. Thank you

The Cabanon Guadeloupe would fit the bill I think, if you can push the budget to £799.99
Simple to pitch and to pack away, not too huge or heavy a pack size, totally dependable and lovely to live in (in all weathers( and won't lose much money over the next ten years (and will still be usable in 15/20, if well cared-for).
Cabanon prices are escalating fast so this is a good price for a super tent.
Thanks for the replies Lidds..Haha..think you might be right about the lady in the boots..but a well smart looking tent all the same.. I like! Will investigate further.

Just think, if you buy that tent you will end up looking like her... Worth every penny.

Hi Spaldrick.
I am a 76 year old athritic and my partner is 80.We have tried them all over the past 50 or so years. and even the carston 280 is too heavy to fold up on the stike
I would recommend you read the Review of the Cabanon Calvi her on this forum. These small french cotton frame tent are really the simplest tents to erect
