Hi,

Am after a tent to replace our 5 man air tent. It takes up too much room in the car and is too heavy. We very nearly bought an Icarus 500 then but my husband wanted to try out an air tent. Am looking fro something similar but its a porch to stop the rain dripping in the door. Have now been looking for hours and my eyes have gone wonky!

Anyone got any recommendations? So far I'm liking Vango Avington 500 but worried the living area is a bit small.

We've got the Avington 600 (or anteus as it was from Go Outdoors). The porch is brilliant, and I think it's worth getting a slightly bigger tent for it. The living area is a really good size too.

Did you get an Avington? I didn't like that the inside living space was reduced in that tent v icarus.

I had same issue re rain dripping in - I use a vango adventure tarp over the front door. Cheap and easy.

You can also get a side porch for £75 which gives rain door protection and good place to store muddy boots

TBH that isn't THAT much more expensive than an adventure tarp plus kin poles

You used to be able to get a sun canopy but I have not been able to source one unfortunately.
