We bought a new tent recently from a company that looked like they had a good reputation online. The tent we bought was an Outdoor Revolution Airedale 12 airbeam tent. We paid over £900 for it but when we went to use it a couple of weeks ago we noticed that one of the air beams had a puncture. So I took the tube out to repair the hole, when we noticed that there were multiple repairs made on the same tube. As we were away at a festival we had to try and prop that section up as well as we could as other repairs failed.
We then noticed mud on one of the bedroom sections, discolouration to the light panels of the tent fabric and damage to one of the tabs on the front of the tent.
At no point did the website we bought it from say that it was an ex demo or a “seconds” tent.
We have contacted the website and they now want us to pay out for boxes (it’s a huge tent) for the tent to go in which will be sent to the manufacturer for them to “check it over”. The issue we have with this is that it is not a manufacturing fault, but the fact that we have been sold a known used and damaged tent.
Any advice on where we go now?
I would upload photos but I don’t know how to.

How long was it from time of purchase to realising the tent was supplied used and damage/repaired? Who's the retailer?
Your problem could be that you've used the tent and attempted repair of the airbeam yourself. Did you photograph the previous repairs and marks and contact the retailer on unpacking the tent? At £900 purchase price, I'd have contacted the retailer there and then, rather than attempting a further repair myself.
You shouldn't have to have the tent 'sent away for testing' if it was actually supplied damaged/repaired but it's not going to be easy if some considerable time has passed since time of purchase and you've used and repaired it yourself.
Presumably a repair kit was included? Do previous repairs appear to have been carried out using the same repair materials? If so, the original must have been substituted?
This story does highlight the necessity of doing a test pitch. I'd want a replacement, brand new tent a d not just a replacement airbeam. I hope you manage to get it sorted...
Your contract is with the seller, not the manufacturer, so they should be taking first responsibility with you.
Though it sounds as if someone else returned the tent to them because of the punctures and they failed at point to send it to the manufacturer and re-sold it to you.
Did it seem ‘factory folded ‘ when you undid it, you know, that really tight efficient fold that you never quite get again?
P.S. I've just noticed, you say you realised the damage when you used it 'a couple of weeks ago'. Did you inform the retailer immediately? Why the delay in sending it back, if you don't mind me asking?
Do you still have the boxes it arrived in? If not, try any local electrical store as they often have sturdy, large boxes they'll let you have (from display items).
Its probably a good idea you make it clear that the tent was supplied damage-repaired and apparently used, since it sounds like it's being treated as having developed a fault.
I realise you say you had taken the tent to use at a festival, so needed still to use it. But, did you contact the retailer immediately to explain the situation and agree that you should use/attempt repair of the tent, just to get you through the festival?
