Since my husband died I haven’t camped but really would like to camp again. I am no youngster although fairly fit. I would like to get a tent I can put up on my own also one I am able to stand up in. Ideas please.

I have two tents with standing height that I put up (and take down) on my own, I'm a woman in my 60s so no macho stuff going on here!
Outwell Birdland 3, it's a small tunnel tent that's perfect for 1 or 2 people and well priced at around £500.
My new tent is a Karsten 300. Very easy to put up on my own as it's inflatable. Loads of room and head height for 2 people, I think that the smaller sized Karsten also has room to stand in so would be more suitable for one person. The Karsten is a far superior tent and as you would expect, this is reflected in the price.
Hi,
I’m sorry for your loss. My husband died six months ago but I didn’t want to give up taking our daughter camping. She’s old enough to help but often gets distracted. We have a Hypercamp Tripstein from Obelink, it’s like the Touareg from Bell tent boutique but slightly smaller. I can put it up by myself in less than 20mins. Just like bells tents it has a single central pole but also one pole each side of the two doors. It’s easy, quick and simple to pitch.
Being a home educator I camp with lots of other families mid week when only one parent can come. Several of my friends have bell tents, both canvas and polyester.
I think these will be a great option for single handedness and standing room. But I’m sure others will be along with different options.
All the best with your quest and your future camping.

I think any smallish tunnel style tent is possible.
I put my Vango Kalu up on my own very easily. it is a discontinued tent but to give you an idea of what is possible.
I also put my Obelink Eldorado up on my own albeit with a bit of bad tempered tricksiness getting the door frame to stand up while I get the guy line in.
I have often looked at the GoOutdoors HiGear Aura 3 as a good small easy to put up tent and would buy that should my Kalu become unusable for any reason. But I don’t have a big cooking set up inside my tent.
Hey kstonehill, sorry to hear that.
The tripstien is plenty big enough for the two of us and pooch. We have the inner and that fits a double sim or two singles lengthways and room across the bottom for a 3/4 sim for a child. Currently I share with my daughter. I tried my double sim in the main bit with that bags in the inner with her and it worked but the sim took too much space for me.
I’ve seen pics with two inners but for me it would leave a fairly small space between the two just wider than the doors.
It works well but I find it’s a bit untidy for my sanity. Before my husband got to weak to manage it we had a large cotton outwell with an integrated porch and a wardrobe. The space was gray and I could tidy everything away. There was space in the porch for kitchen set up and table and chairs in the inner ‘living room’. With careful planning I could put a table in the tripstein but I wouldn't want to cook in it and we tend to only use it on longer stays now and use the campervan for cooking and eating and the tent for sleeping and storage.
That was all a bit rambly and I’m not sure how much sense it made. I do like it. I love that it’s cotton but it’s not my ideal tent. But I can pitch it and strike it easily on my own so that’s a winner. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask any other questions.
