After the gale force winds of last summer, our Vango Anteus tent (https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/15900234/vango-anteus-600-6-person-family-tent-15900234) is going to be retired. It was a nice enough tent for the price, but wholly unsuitable for very windy weather, especially if you are daft enough to pitch it facing the wind.

We are looking at getting an air tent, seeing as they have come down in price.

I have my eyes on the Outwell Ansley 6a, as the price seems pretty good and Outwell are a good make. However I cannot find much about it in way of reviews or opinion. Being a bit of a newcomer to camping, I wondered if anybody had any thoughts on whether it might be a decent first air tent?

I will let you know I’ve just bought one.
I previously owned 2 Outwell tents.
Montana 6 & Virginia 5.
Both were excellent.

Thanks, I ended up buying one in the end as it looked a good deal. I have just put it up in the garden but not sure I have done the footprint properly. Not sure which way around it should be, what the holes are for and what the weird pocket holes are for.

Well I’ve considered my last two trips now with my new tent an Outwell Ansley 6a (air tent) bought from Go Outdoors & it was delivered without a pump unbeknown to me. I attempted a test run pitch for the first time at my Mother & Dads after a 24hr fiasco to obtain a working pump. The second time was in a Force 8 (Beaufort Scale) Wind in Anglesey at Mount View Campsite & finally this season at Crowden Caravan & Camping Club site.
I am impressed yet again by the design & quality of Outwell tents. The Ansley 6a pitched/went up well even in a Force 8. It took slightly longer due to nature & my novice status for first outing at Mount View (an excellent small camp site - see my review). The second outing at Crowden was a lot easier. Great tent for 2 / 4 adults or a family of 4. Design & layout, a classic tunnel tent.
Can’t recommend Outwell or Go Outdoors highly enough for quality of tent & service.

I have just bought one at the end of last year and can't wait to get away in it in the summer unfortunately don't have big enough garden to try it out in so hoping nothing is wrong with it. Only told my hubby last week as we have already have four other tents but he was all right about it lol anyway enjoy your new Orwell tents everyone xx
