Hi. So after years of different pole tents. I'm thinking of changing over to an air tent. Atm we don't have a big enough decent pole tent for us all.. 4 people with 2 big dog crates. Looking for advice.. I love the idea of putting it up myself save arguing with the husband. As even after 20 years of marriage he still doesn't do as his told when putting up a pole tent 🤣⛺😏 xx also camp or fishing beds? Any ideas

Air tent, with an electric pump, my OH couldn't help me and I managed to put up a 6 berth Kampa Croyde Classic tent on my own.

Loads of room, just like having a bungalow to wander around in, just us 2 and a dog.

If your budget will not stretch to a Karsten set up, I would stick with the Poles.

Having had plenty of each I would go for air.
Take francais comment with a pinch of salt, there are plenty good air tents out there which won't affect your mortgage payment.

definitely air...we've also had many poled tents over the years and the speed and ease of erecting a huge air tent wins out every time...we have a Vango Illusion 800xl TC as our main tent (and a slightly smaller Vango Amalfi for our weekend tent) and between the two of us we can have it fully pitched and guy roped in under 30 minutes...we feel much more secure in our air tents too when the weather takes a windy turn...we've survived storms where wind gusts have reached 70mph unscathed whereas many poled tents pitched at the same sites have received substantial damage...

Both pole and airbeam have they advantages and disadvantages. I changed to a Vango airbeam a couple of years ago and haven’t regretted it.
I’ve got the TF flat out super king carp fishing bed four leg.
A bit of an investment as it’s not cheap but worth it IMO as me and more importantly the Wife gets a good nights sleep.

Sooooo we went for a zempire aero txl pro tc in the end. Needed a small mortgage but seems like everything we needed. Polycotton for the airflow (so the dogs can breath inside) 👀... And westlake fishing bed. Again a bit more pricey but comfy... Looking forward to the weekend now.. Thanks everyone 👍😊👍

It's been a long time since we met in Cheshire, but the Karsten Lacerta and Opera are awesome poled tunnel tents too boot!

Still 100% cotton canvas (Tencate - the best) with some very clever tweaks!
