Undecided on which tent to get, they look like basically the same tent apart hh rating, the eurohike being 3000 and the vango 4000. Any help would be gratefully appreciated

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I’ve already wasted over 300 pound on a tent off eBay last year. Thanks in advance

I don't know either of them myself, they look OK. My personal view is that 3000mm HH is enough. I'd go for whichever you can get the best price on. Buy some decent pegs, they'll both come with rubbish ones.

We have the Vango, can't comment on the other one, but overall we like the Anteus 600XL a lot. Loads of space, loads of light in the living area due to 4 windows and a pale roof, the front porch/extension is massively useful, and it's reasonably easy to pitch given its size.

Just 2 things we don't like: they say the sleeping area material is dark but it's laughable really as the main tent is so light. And there is bug mesh on the front door but not the side door so you can't get a through-breeze without letting loads of flies in. There are vents beneath the side windows but without a higher opening they don't really do much for getting hot air out.

Our main factors in buying the tent were being able to stand up inside, and not having a sloping front like many other Vango tents, as that just seems impractical in the wet. If anything it's maybe bigger than we need, but it works!

Thank you for your replies, I’m getting the Vango Anteus from go outdoors, it’s 289 and seems the best tent in my price range.
