Hi this has probably been asked before. I have a eskdale 8 man tent purchased in 2013 and gets used 1 weekend a year. Last year at a festival it chucked it down and the tent didn't leak at all. I packed the tent away damp and dried and aired it a couple of days later. My question is do you think i need to waterproof the tent or will it be ok for another weekend with possible festival rain on the horizon.

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes

New! Please upload a photo of your tent to the Tent Showcase!

If in doubt, pitch it and get the hose on it to see if water beads off or if the fabric shows dark patches where it's soaked in.

If all is well, ensure it's thoroughly dry before packing up then dry-store and look forward to using it again next season!

Never rush to re-proof a tent, unless it really needs it.
