I finally cracked. Lugging the Wolf Lake (which I loved) outer bag, inner bag, pole bag, carpet etc etc has done for me. I’ve sold it.
I want something similar but probably smaller in air tent form. I’ve done the decent thing and spent a week looking on here expecting to find all my answers and therefore avoid starting a new topic of my own but no. I found surprisingly little in the way of conclusive advice.
So. Air tents. Hit me with it guys.
Am I mad? Is it a fad? I love the Outwell brand but before that we were Vango fans however I’m very open minded.
Should we go air? If so which? (2 adults 2 kids so ideally 5+ man).
Cheers in advance.
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
We switched from a large pole tent with separate bags for outer, inners and poles. We switched to air tents in 2017 so have done 3 camping seasons now, it is far less faff. Yes the bag is massive, but you blow it up and the inners are already in there, it’s so easy.
We had three Outwell Vermont 7SA, all went back as faulty, one air tube problem where it was never sealed from the factory and two other tents that leaked water quite a lot. It as a shame as I loved the tent but wouldn’t but an a Outwell again. We’ve had a Kampa Studland polycotton for the last year and it is fantastic. Buying at this time of year you will get a nice discount of 15-20% if you look around for this years stock.
Good to hear thanks. After a morning of internet bashing we’re leaning towards Vango. We haven’t even considered Kampa. I think we should do that next and then make a decision.
