Does anyone know if there is any difference between the kalahari 8 and the elite/eclipse model please. Can't find any info on net or is it just the elite/eclipse are newer models. If so how old are the kalahari 8? Any info appreciated

There's reviews of the Kalahari on here going back a good few years, maybe look at the dates of reviews and you'll get a rough idea of when they sold the different models. I don't know of any way of checking when an actual tent was made tho.
The Eclipse and the Elite, afaik, are the same tent but the Eclipse has blackout bedrooms, haven't seen them but there supposedly very good.
We just sold our Elite after 4 years and it's a great tent, solid in winds and never left a drop of rain in. We had 2 very bad nights in it, high winds and heavy rain and it stood up perfectly, bit of shaking but never felt like it would fail.
Thank you for reply. The prices range so differently from 90.00 up to over 500 yet they are new on go outdoors for 329.00 and the elite today is 206.00 so just wondering as reviews are good and we ate looking to take grandchildren so would only be out in it a couple of imes a year so not looking to spend extortionate amount
The HiGear is a Go Outdoors own brand so personally, thats the only place I'd buy it from.
We got fantastic value for money from ours, we had about 10/11 weeks from it and only just sold it a few weeks ago.
The only thing I didn't like was the lay out. We bought a vis a vis tent and then realised we'd have rathered a tunnel design so obviously no fault of the tent. It had massive bedrooms, but little living space. It will comfortably sleep 6 adults, but 4 sitting inside and around a table and it felt cramped. Just our opinion tho.
If ye do want a vis a vis, then I'd happily recommend the Kalahari. The blackout/eclipse bedrooms are meant to be really good, so with grandkids, maybe it's worth the extra money if it helps them sleep in the morning. It will probably keep the temp down slightly too on a warm morning.
