Morning everyone.

Any recommendations for small light tent ⛺️ that would be suitable for Cycle Touring? Thinking of cycling the Isle of Wight in the summer for a couple of days, but undecided wether to book hotels/B&Bs or campsites and carry my gear.

Anyone else out there that has done this?

Are you looking for a one person tent? And what's your budget? A bargain one person tent is the Alpkit Soloist. Fab tent and packs up into a reasonable size and not a bad price at all

If not, have a look at Life in the Wilderness...they have a section specific to this?

Thanks, will take a look.

One person will be fine, I hope. Budget isn't a issue, more thinking about weight and how easy to put up/take down.

Will be travelling light, toiletries, change of clothes. Plan is to eat out/buy fresh.

Do you really need a tent to do a cycle tour around the Isle of Wight, I thought you could do the full distance around the island in half an hour?

For my cycle tours from Manchester to Scotland via the Lakes, I started off with a Terranova LaserLite, great little tent around 1kg all up so added the footprint, that was back in 2005.

Still got the LaserLite as I only used it around three times, but in 2007 moved on to a larger tent that could also accommodate the bike, so now also have the Hilleberg Nalo 2 GT not too heavy at 2.4kg, so also added the footprint to that.

Both are great tents and very well made, although the Hilleberg appears somewhat pricey these days.

Have a read of the backpacking section here. It will give you an idea of suitable tents. I would recommend a Vango F10helium ul 1 or a Coleman cobra 2 or a vango banshee.

-------------
Hypercamp Alaska
Vango Force 10 mk3
Vango F10 Helium 1
Coleman Cobra Pro 3
Coleman Cobra 2
Naturehike Star River 2
Eureka! Solitaire
Dutch army goretex bivvy bag
