Hi can anyone help me, I’m looking for a 3 ‘pod’ family tent, can’t seem to find anywhere that is making them new any more, it’s for a family & so the kids have a separate sleeping area each as opposed to side by side, thanks in advance

Satellite-style tents aren't around much anymore, possibly because they're a bit sprawling on pitches. Your best bet might be to go for a vis-a-vis style (bedrooms opposite each other, each side of a central living area)?

Thanks I’ve been looking to upgrade my tent, the only other was the berghaus air tent, but I’m yet to be convinced by the air beam design & whether it will last for a few years

I used to have a share in 9 berth 3 lobed/pod tent years ago (sold a few years back) that a group of mates and I used, and to be honest, with experience, there was not much in it's favour! It was really quite a horrible tent to be blunt! It's got a huge footprint that will likely be too big for some (many!) camp site pitches, the external 'gap' between the pods is pretty unusable as it's full of guy ropes. It's big and heavy when packed, it takes a lot of erecting effort and time with a lot more poles and guy ropes than other tents, it probably wont have a porch area for safe cooking in, or shedding wet/muddy gear. Ours didn't have a SIG in the central section, only in the bedroom pods, so was draughty and bug ridden. With so many stitched joints, ours also leaked a lot!

Having now personally got a poled 5 berth tunnel tent with side by side 2 and 3 berth bedrooms and complete SIG, plus a porch, it's infinitely better in every respect. I've also used a vis-a-vis tent which was great. I'd highly recommend you look at the tunnel tent style with vis-a-vis bedrooms to give your kids a little distance.

Early air tents (and caravan awnings) had a few reliability problems, but the technology has matured, and I think now is as reliable as poles (of which I've had to replace quite a few over the years on various tents!), if not better. If you go for an air tent, try to find one where individual pole tubes can be isolated, so if a leak does develop, the entire tent doesn't deflate.

There are a few Outwell Hartford XL's available second user that would meet your spec if you don't mind risking a used tent. My Hartford XL is a PIA to put up without two adults working together but once erected it is great with three sleeping pods and a decent living area with sig. The porch is not a great size and for long stays I would consider a awning add on, but as I tend to use the caravan for longer stays it is adequate.
