Good evening campers,
So after my thread asking questions around wild camping, I thought I'd do a post holiday thread detailing what we did and where we went. Maybe it'll help someone else who's looking to something similar.
First off, we had a great time! We went to Dorset, Devon and Cornwall...I drove for 919 miles! We were away for 7 nights, we camped for 4 of those and managed to blag B&B's for the other 3 as key workers...we are key workers (NHS) but obviously we weren't working down there.
All three B&B's knew we weren't working down there, they didn't say as much though and they didn't seem to care. Just happy to have paying guests. Can I just say, Ivy House B&B in St Austell was amazing, 5* service and the power shower was a welcome relief!
Ok, so day 1 was a B&B, Fair Oak House at Exeter airport
Day 2 was the first wild camping experience. After a day of disappointment chasing waterfalls around Dartmoor, Whitelady Waterfall and Canonteign Waterfall...they were both closed to the public. We found our first camp spot...
We were driving past Four Winds Car Park in Dartmoor when we saw a tent pitched in there. It was an open car park, with a walled enclosure just off it. In our excitement, we drove straight in, pitched our tent and had a beer or two and revelled in our first success! Not realising we were ignoring all the rules about wild camping in Dartmoor i.e. 100 metres from a road and not in site of a dwelling. We were around 20 meters from the road, and there was a house in sight. However, no-one approached us and of course we left no evidence of us being there.
The morning sun was nice...

) and fish and chips in St Ives to name a few we headed up the north coast of Cornwall and found a small gravel car park just off the road in the Godrevy Heritage Coast. No Parking signs, so we figured we could park over night.
