Hi peeps
I am after some advice, I recently purchased a second hand Hi gear corado 8 tent and used it for the first time
This weekend. The weather was shocking with heavy rain and the tent leaked badly all through the roof fabric and sides. Is this just a case of carrying out a re water proofing? Any advice would be appreciated as this is such a good tent and fits my families requirements perfectly.
Thanks all in advance for any advice.
Mike

nope wont make any difference at all, you could try contacting the sellers and if they are any good they need to refund you, but this is the hazard of buying a secondhand tent unfortunately, i hope you didnt pay to much for it?

Hi thanks for the advice. That’s what I thought. Tried contacting the seller and they are having non of it saying it was perfect when they sold it. This is my fourth hi gear tent and they have all been amazing. Only changed my Zenobia 6 as I have teenagers who want their own rooms now.
Appreciate the reply.

yes i thought that might end up being the case, i think it dispicable really how people will sell stuff like that, but then again i wouldnt risk buying a secondhand tent either, ok save money on everything else but not the one thing thats going to make or break your holiday

A new Hi-Gear isn’t much better, I’ve just returned a Vanguard Eclipse 6 “premium”. The bedroom was full of cuts and it leaked like a sieve around the doors. To be fair to GoOutdoors they took it back no question.

I have to admit I have had the Zenobia 6 the voyager 6 both second hand and they were perfect. Never had any problems with them at all. Stayed in thunderstorms and have storms. Hence why I went for another hi gear tent. Was hoping it would just need a waterproof coating put over it.

if it was cotton, then it would have just benefitted from a good wetting and drying, but you cant make nylon tents waterproof again once its worn off, i hope you havent lost a lot of money on this? you could recoup some of the cost by selling the bedrooms and poles i guess
