Hi! We are looking for a tent and wondering which to get. We aren’t looking to spend a huge amount so ideally will look at second hand so older tent recommendations are probably the best.

Technically there’s 6 of us but I think to start off we will camp with just four of us (2 adults, 2 small children). The kids tend to come in to us during the night anyways so we may benefit from one spacious bedroom/one that dividers can be removed. My husband would really like quite a tall bedroom so I’m assuming it would need to be a tunnel style tent for
that? He doesn’t like the walls sloping in as he sleeps.

I prefer Outwell or Higear as that’s what I’m used to. Pretty easy to pitch as we have the toddlers.

If all of us went then we’d need much more room (an additional two double bedrooms). The ease of pitching wouldn’t be such a problem BUT we couldn’t have tons and tons of huge bags due to space in car.

Can you get tents that are darker/blackout? Really not keen on the blue higear ones though as they look gloomy inside!

Does our ideal tent exist?

Thanks!

if going for seecondhand make sure you see the thing erected! the amount of people lately coming on here asking for help because this or that was missing is unreal, however from your wanting a tall bedroom part you would be best looking at a frame tent, although thats going to take a lot of space in your car

clearly the older ones are able to be left at home, so what about getting a pup tent for them and a reasonable sized main tent for everything else?
