We have just got back from a long weekend camping in Wales. Unfortunately we got a puncture in one of our airbeams on Saturday night. When we took the airbeam out to repair it, it looked like the puncture had occurred because the the cable tie holding the zip together had come undone, this meant the zip had had started to undo and the plastic bit had got caught on the zip making a hole.
Anyway we repaired the puncture (thank you to the advice on here to always take storm sure tuff tape with you) but it made me think about the position of the zippers, they were near the top. Is there any reason they need to be at the top? If not, it would be more convention to have them near the bottom (below the level of the outer tube) so you could easily notice if there was an issue with the cable ties.
What are your thoughts? Do they need to be at the top?
