Hi all, had a mare of a first couple of days when we put our tent up on Monday. We've had 4 out of 4 airbeams fail!! Luckily, we snapped up 2 spares a couple years ago so we're limping on those. The replacements were hard to get back then!! So it's the type of airbeam where the valve is accessible via a ground level zipped 'cat flap'. So the valve position is low. The valve is the same type as many airbeds, a screw in valve with a secondary screw on cap (i.e. not airspeed). Basically, the hard rubber valve casing has perished... On all of them!

Has anybody had any luck finding someone to repair these / found a suitable 'bodge' replacement? i.e. an airbeam that's fat enough, much too long with a different valve that's been made to fit?

Love to know! As the rest of the tent is in great condition having only been used 6 times in as many years!

Thanks in advance, Ian

Not that one yet, no. I'll contact them now. This particular tent has fallen out of the archives on Vango's own website. It's full name is Vango Evoque 600 Iguana. I'll keep you posted.

So hopefully 2x airbeams will be delivered to the campsite today! They have the new airspeed valve but come with an adapter for my classic valve pump. Moral of the story? Always pick up the phone to the experts. Very impressed with the service from Tent Spares.

Arrived at campsite at 5pm in Devon after long journey. Opened up what I thought was our trusty Vango airbeam 6 man tent only to find 3 out of 4 airbeams had perished..all in the same place around the seals. Totally useless
Used the tent only in dry conditions about 6 -7 times for five days and always packed away dry. Had the foresight to get one spare tube but not three!
A difficult situation to find yourself in with a family of four after a long journey.
This was made worse by the fact my wife said, ' you should check the tent before you go'. However, with the spare tube in hand and the hassle of getting it all out and trusting Vango for quality....what a terrible mistake!
