Just done our last camp of the year and left the Kampa Kielder Air 5 at the local tip before we left! Only had it 2 years used it 4 times. First trip out with Pinto last time she damaged the door, ripped the mesh and broke the zip, looked a bit unsightly but we managed this trip, until on the first night we woke up to water gathered on top of the bedroom pod and slowly dripping through - put it down to condensation but not something we've ever had an issue with before. Never happened again all week - until we had heavy rain overnight, I woke up to two wet pillows and mattress and a wet carpet in bedroom and living room. We had a spare tarp with us so put that over the top for the last couple of nights. We may have tried reproofing if it hadn't been for the damaged door.
So, the quest for a new tent begins. I'm open to suggestions based on the following:
*Budget £1000
*6+ berth, only 2 of us plus the dog but would like a spare room for toilet and storage
*I like lots of big windows
*Would like a large porch with the option to close off, our last one had a vestibule
*Must zip completely, one thing that let the kampa down was the front door which only toggled down. We added velcro but had to keep Pinto on a lead inside.
I think that's about it. Be great to hear your suggestions, ready for new season. Not expecting to buy until new models out next year now as most have sold out this year.

------------- May/June - Spring Valley
Aug/Sept - Leekworth
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
Buy a used Cabanon Biscaya 440, preferably with the front sun canopy. It will keep you confortable, dry and secure (sounds like a recommendation for Tena Lady! 😉) and last way longer than 4 trips away.

Thank you but canvas not really an option for us, weight, size and nowhere to dry if we come home with a wet tent.

tent recommendations is a very personal thing and just like the saying "one man's meat is another man's poison" so a tent that l love you may absolutely hate
