Another vote for tenacious tape. I've used it for tent repairs. I also used it to repair a hole in my bicycle saddle donkeys years ago and the patch is still stuck as firmly today as it was back then. Amazing stuff.
Another for Tenacious Tape.
I've only ever bought rolls, but I believe you can also get patches.
Cut to size, but not square/rectangular. Always cut round/oval, or at the very least round off the corners.
Stick one patch to each side (inside and out). Press/rub on firm and flat.
Not cheap, but then you don't need to buy twice, as this stuff actually works, is easy to apply, and works very well.

I’d never heard of this Tenacious Tape, but it sounds just the thing to patch an L shaped tear in the fly sheet of our antique orange cotton Vango Force 10. Thank you!
