Tarpaulins are much the same material as most SIGS/Extension Ground Sheets and Footprints but MUCH cheaper, and obviously far easier to obtain than obscure custom footprints.
Available in a number of colours, not just loud 'startling blue', and grades. Bought oversize, they can easily be cut down to make a custom fit (the cut edges tend not to fray much, but can be seamed if nifty on a sewing machine, or bound with tape to reinforce), or simply folded under to make correct size/shape, grommets are easy to fit to provide pegging points.
Take a look here for typical range and pricing: https://tarpaulinstoreuk.co.uk/ (other suppliers available, and not endorsing this one)
Applies equally to fitted SIGs, custom ground sheets and Tarps, they can be very slippery when feet/shoes/floor wet! Some form of carpeting/matting is a big improvement!

Out of interest, what is the procedure for grommets? Although as you said, I could simply fold under and not peg it.

Grommets, Eyelets, Cringles, whatever name they go by, same procedure - punch hole in Tarp, fit two parts of 'grommet', then 'set' to clamp firmly in place.
Kits with grommets, hole punch, and setting tool widely available, typical one here, and photos show how: https://www.toolstation.com/draper-tarpaulin-grommet-repair-kit/p53761
Or if you prefer, plastic ones that require no fitting tool other than a hammer/mallet, but no hole punch supplied with these, you'll need to find a way of making a neat correct sized hole, again, widely available: https://www.justkampers.com/ca0019-kampa-dometic-plastic-self-sealing-groundsheet-........
I've used both types, both simple to fit, and no great preference.
