Im an experienced camper, usually using public transport to get to places. I have a lightweight mountain tent that I have used for about 15 years now. Due to arthritis in my hips, Im finding it increasingly difficult to get in and out as it is low down. I need a tent thats taller with a door high enough to step into, not necessarily head height (Im 5'2), but still lightweight and roomy.I do like a porch also. Can anyone recommend something. Does it even exist?? Any tips and references gratefully received. I cant be the only one out there with this problem.

Sorry, no advice but following as I have the same issue! Can no longer crawl around and like a porch to sit in etc
Fingers crossed we find something! Xx
Looked at Vaude Chapel L3 Person Tent and it looks great and would consider if I find it light enough to get about. However there seems to be none of these available to buy new or used. I am continuing to look at a range of tents as new designs are coming along all the time.

I use a fishermen camp bed they are very comfy but very big and bulky. We now have combi camp trailer tent which we are using for the 1st for jubilee weekend.
Hi Rosalee59
Following on from my earlier comment, and lots of research I have bought myself a Pre-loved Outwell Arizona L (there's also a Arizona 3 abs and a Arizona 300 - I think these are just newer versions and basically the same)
Anyway, it's fab! Fantastic headroom - can fully stand up - just 3 poles to pitch and a very generous living area. It's a tad weighty compared to my previous Eurohike Ribble but in all honesty all I will be doing is walking from the car to my pitch so not really an issue.
Have a look - see what you think!

HI - thanks for recommendation. Have had a good look. And it does look amazing however I cant find info on weight. Im completely dependent on public transport most of the time so I use a trolley (tent, sleeping bag, mat) but still have to lift trolley on and off buses and trains etc, so bulk and weight is an issue. Please can you let me know the weight of the tent.
Your new tent looks AMAZING and I would certainly buy one, I went onto the website straight away to look at all the spec. However the weight is just too much. Its certainly one to have if I had my own vehicle again but its just not viable for me now. I wish you all the best with your future camping trips. Im fortunate I do have an ex-scout tent that ticks more boxes than my mountain tent and will have to manage with that for now. I must have looked at 100s of tents in the last week but I think I am asking too much as extra height means more fabric, longer poles and that all adds to the overall weight.

That's exactly what I spent my week doing too 😅 To get standing height and low-ish weight is really tricky. The Vango Gerona also made my list but that's 9.7kg as well.
Good luck with your expeditions!
Take care xx
