I'm a backpacker, but going with my family of 2 adults, a 10 yo and a 12 yo. We will need a tent with 3 bedroom compartments for privacy, but I want something that can withstand wind and rain. Here's the other thing, I don't want to end up with a massive thing taking up all the space and weighing 30kg! I really like the Habitude 6, but there's not enough privacy for developing children

Any recommendations from anyone with a similar setup?

Two tents? We used a couple of Coleman Phads (no longer available but similar spec things are). Adults in one, kid in the other. Add a tarp to make a shared area and you're still in the 10 to 12kg area.

Sorry for the old thread revival but I'd never recommend going to the isle's with kids, a few small tents and relying on a tarp for "living" area. The weather turns on a sixpence and the sideways rain will just come under the tarp :) Even decent weather in summer it can be cold in the evenings as most sites are exposed to Atlantic winds due to lack of tree cover.
I've been camping there a few times now, always in summer and let's call it "4 seasons in a day" sometimes! Amazing islands though and still a favourite despite the challenges.
