Hi guys, I am looking for 6 berth family tent for my 2 kids, my wife and me. I am looking for something around ~400 euro price point. I am unable to go check out the tents in person, because the camping culture is more or less non-existent in my country, so I'll have to order online. I am in EU.

I've narrowed it down to Easy Camp Palmdale 600, or maybe Skandika Gotland 6, but I've recently also come across a new Outwell Lawndale 6 at a significant discount (I think it is a discount at least). The issue is this seems to be a new tent from 2022, and I have trouble finding any reviews.

What would you recommend? Go with Palmdale 600, or take a leap-of-faith on grab a un-reviewed Outwell?

I will be camping at the Mediteranian seaside for a couple of weeks fwiw.

Help!

The Easycamp tent looks flimsy, but I maybe wrong.

Outwell have a good reputation, and there are loads of good reviews for that tent!

Skandika looks good.

Since you are in the EU so don’t have to worry about import taxes etc, have you looked at the Obelink website? They have at least 3 6 person tents in your budget. Obelink own brand is reputable.

I was not aware of Obelink, I will check that out.

Also, Outwell Lawndale 6 is out of the picture, I noticed it is only 185cm in height in the living area, which is a little on the low side for me.

I too think the Easycamp looks flimsy. I wouldn't touch Skandika. If the Outwell is too low, look for an alternative.

For camping in the med in high season, take a look at Decathlon tents, which are well ventilated. Or, has been mentioned, Obelink.

A cotton or polycotton canvas will be more comfortable, you could consider a used tent to keep within budget.

For a few years now I have used my Eurohike Rydal 600 tent for summer family holidays in South Wales. It is relatively cheap to buy and I have found it user friendly and tough. Last weekend I had near gale winds and driving rain for a full 24hrs and it came through it all with no tear, breakage or leak - impressive for such a large 'family holiday' tent like this (I have just left a review with photos, although photos have not uploaded correctly for some reason).
It has a large sleeping area with central divider and there is a large enclosed living area with two windows plus two entrances.
