Hi
I'm a returning member. For the last 30 years I have used Khyam 3 man igloo types for myself, and a Gelert Atlantis 5 when accompanied by Herself and our GSD's.

This year I have increasingly struggled with needing to crawl in and out of the Khyam - my knees / hips/ back let me know I should have taken greater care in my younger days.

I notice increasingly people use Teepee type tents, and I think the easier entrance / exit method is the inevitable way forward for me.

The forumcommunity's thoughts / experiences / recommendations - good and bad - would be welcome.

My requirements are probably:

- Compact / light enough to transport on a motorcycle.

- Capable of reasonable use 12 months of the year - no need for heater / chimney.

- Relatively easy / quick to pitch - possibly single handed in adverse weather.

Many thanks
Boris

We have a Robens Fairbanks. Reviews here. I'm very happy with it but there's not a lot of standing room if you're 6 feet tall. Worth a look though IMHO.

I have a Gelert Navajo 4 but it's a pain to get in and out of as the outer door is so slanted - so look for one with a higher doorway
I've got a Wild Country Hoolie 6 which is very light and may be worth considering - you can take the 2 person pod out and have a decent size living space but need the footprint as there's no groundsheet in the space between the 2 sleeping pods - I don;t know if it's light enough for a motorbike, before I passed my driving test in November I took it on a trolley with a rucksack for clothes and bedding
good luck with the search - I'm considering changing to a campervan before my knees give up the ghost

Thanks for your comments.

After looking at your suggestions, I think I will probably go for Robens Green Cone. I'll review in due course whatever I choose.

Thanks again
Boris

I have or had of two of these above, and my choice, on the criteria you have given, would be the Fairbanks. There are comparative reviews of both the Gelert Navajo 4 (can they still be bought new? I don't think so?) and the Robens Fairbanks on this site.....
