Im amazed how loud all the air bed pumps are.
Im looking everywhere but cant find any that are quiet their are also a lot bigger than required using the standard battery box on all models.
I liked the coleman quickpump it looks like its more powerful but again very noisy.
I know brushless motors are alot quieter and usually alot more powerful but im wondering if they require a controller because i thing some require alot of amps to drive. I wanted to keep a eye for a used standard one in the charity shops and then swap the motor over. Im guessing the noise is from the motor and cant be muffled without overheating.
so has anyone ever found a airpump that wasnt loud?
would i be better off making a turbine shape like a beasted up version of the mini pumps they now sell or does the flat side blowing fan work better i assume it does because every sells those types except the mini units now availble

Ours was loud. We used it inside the car with air bed outside & the doors closed as much as possible. That muffled the volume.
I think it gets irritating to others (well, it did for us) if you’re also doing an inflatable sofa & several inflatable arm chairs. Or if it’s nearly midnight.
I guess they are just made cheap even though they are not always cheap. On Sundays I want to deflate as well but many people are still sleeping. Wouldn't mind paying £40 for something very quiet instead
That looks much more like a blower than a pump. I doubt whether it could be used to pump up an airbed or anything else. Probably more for cooling than pumping.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I'm inclined to think that for pump manufacturers noise isn't really a consideration. Efficiency and cheapness of production will be their main priorities. They would expect users of their pumps to expect them to make some noise and not use them at times likely to annoy others. If you feel you need to use a pump at "unsociable hours" you could always use a foot or hand pump.

As stated in previous posts that appears to be a blower, in which case the airflow quoted will be based on free air.
The specification quoted appears to be a load of rubbish. There is no such thing as 20.814 In H2O wind pressure, I assume they mean 20.814 inches static water gauge which is the standard for measuring fan duties, and far too high for a blower. All the information appears to have been copied from an American specification by someone who knows nothing about fan engineering.
Thanks everyone Inc bernie 47. It is a blower but opening up a standard airpump they are just a brushed motor and a blower they are not geared unless inside the motor which I doubt. I saw a yt video of a guy making one using a 5v mini blower it worked fine just took a long time due to size. Airbed pumps just spin they don't pump. I used to sell brushed motors for rc planes they were loud. I also sold brushless they were quiet and very powerful however they were more expensive than the brushed. Not sure about the motor type in the one I posted but eqyal to a brushed it should be more powerful and quiet
