First time poster, I just managed to get my hands on a steal of a deal for 2x 6m Canvas Bell Tents. They are to use during the summer. They don't come with poles or flooring. Poles are no problem, but I was very surprised at the prices for flooring 🫣 I thought it was going to be relatively cheap for some reason.
What are the best value sources for flooring? I don't necessarily need the ultimate luxury, just don't fancy getting these up and walking around on tarpaulin.
I am in no rush as I need to get these two tents cleaned up for this season, so If I have to wait for them to be shipped from overseas I am okay with that.
I live in the UK

Hmm. They might be a bit draughty without the usual sewn in floor. And you might have the occasional hedgehog rooting round at night. Reminds me of camping as a Girl Guide.
We used a builders tarpaulin under the porch of our tent which had no floor. I think some folks make a sumptuous inner with carpet - but it depends how much space you have to carry things like that. Cheap rugs or blankets might work, but may be slippy on the waterproof base layer.
I've used those 'jigsaw/interlocking' clip together foam tiles in my conventional (rectangular) tent bedroom over the SIG to provide both insulation and comfort under bare feet.
I see no reason why you couldn't use them in a Bell tent, either leaving the edges 'stepped/jaggy' or cutting them into curved tiles to match the tent profile. You could even put a hole in one and slit it to fit around central pole.
Might be a bit bulky to cover entire floor, but that depends on your transport capacity.

Sorry I am definitely keeping the zipped in floor! I meant alternatives the the coir carpets that seems to run to £250+!
In my defence, you never mentioned the zipped in floor.
Something cosy by the bed for bare feet is all you need; wear slippers instead of a carpet.

I have bought the recycled plastic carpets for bell tents, though to be fair they are not hugely cheaper. Maybe some cheap rag rugs or second hand rugs dotted about. Looking at photos of other peoples tents, you don’t need to cover every square inch I don’t think, maybe just the central areas and leave the edges for furniture and equipment. I saw mention somewhere of using packing blankets but have no experience of these personally. I have an IKEA outdoor cotton rug that I bought cheaply a few years which is a good size and I’m going to use. A couple of those would fill some space.

Actually, just checked IKEA and my cheapo outdoor rug (about £13) is no longer available and they are all pretty pricey. Try plastic outdoor rugs/mats on eBay as these seem to be the same material as my carpeting and just have a couple in the central area perhaps?
Go to your local tip. Often people are renewing carpets and throw away the worn ones. Usually the wear tends to be on only one part which can then be discarded.

I have found a local option to buy 5m coir mats for a good price. Question: will a 5m mat in a 6m tent be functional? 50cm border around the shallow side of a tent should t look too bad should it?
Hi - this might work for you- go on eBay and search for “Robens Chinook Ursa Flooring Carpet”. I have a 5.5m Aero Yurt and it almost but not quite fits. It will leave space round the edges for you but even has the slit for the pole - and less than £40.00 - its probably the cheapest option you will find to cover most of your floor.
