Well this is my first post on the site (just joined). As with many people we are now venturing back into camping. I have read many of the interesting posts.
Now our dilema is do we go with the Aspen 700 or the Diablo 900. The metal frame and straight walls of the Aspen, is currently our favourite choice (more expensive). The tent has to cater for 2 adults and two children, with the odd guest in the future.
Just wondering if any of you had the same dilema and your opinions. Regards

Yup, we had I dilemma, Wife wanted a Frame tent & I wanted a 'quick to put up tent'... So we bought two - A Sunncamp 'Grange' Frame tent & a Sunncamp APS 3006 Plus tent - we wnt camping to Cornwall & she hated it, so we're now selling up at great cost
Both tents will be appearing on eBay from Thursday the 2nd June
IMO there is no comparison between the Diablo and the Aspen ,seen them both up and the Aspen seems far better both quality wise and design wise !! Lovely tent
Hi there, have ordered the aspen after viewing it and couldnt find anything i would change about it. As far as room for your needs you wont be dissapointed. Yes it is expensive but you can see why when you walk in one. It stands 7' 6" high, about 15 ' wide and about 19' long including porch. The light inside is fantastic, blah blah blah...could rattle on all day

I agree, seen both and the Aspen is the one I'd go for (if I didn't love my Outwell Montana 6 so much ). The Aspen looks easy to erect and seems brighter on the inside than a standard dome and the bedrooms are huge!!!
Cheers
Pete.

Never be afraid to try something new, remember.... Amateurs built the 'Ark'... but Professionals built the 'Titanic' !!!
Only being 5 foot 9 I guess 7 foot 6 isnt needed but its just the height it comes at, whilst viewing the tent the wind got up and the rain came down really hard , ideal for a weather test i suppose and all was well with no movement at all. Val has a good point in that you pitch inner first so could be a problem in the rain, that only means you would have to have a beer or two in the car whilst wating for the rain to ease off

Just to let you know that I have just recently purchased a Vango Apen 700 (fantastic tent with loads of room for a family of 4), it can be expensive but if you shop about you can get a good deal. Try Outbacktrading.co.uk they are selling it for £365 thats with free next day delivery.
Hello everyone.
Well I’ve just come back from a trip to Bala with my Aspen 700. It withstood 30+ mph winds without any problems. Had to do some double pegging and it shook a lot and groaned a bit but no damage. I did notice that a number of fibre poled dome tents had collapsed and they were all smaller than the 700. Anyway I highly recommend this tent – there are four of us with another on the way and the space is excellent. It’s definitely worth every penny.
All the best
Richard
Firstly thankyou everyone who pased on advice to our dilema. We went ahead and purchased the Aspen 700. The shop display looked big, but when we finally erected it at home it was massive!
It took 45 mins for the first attempt at erecting it and 25 mins at making it fit back into the bags (with some spare room too!)
The only problem is that we now need to upgrade the car as well as buy a trailer and roof box, to fit all the gear into. Now who said camping was cheap!
