Buy a builders tarp larger than you need and cut it down to size.

Builders tarp is the way to go, same material as genuine footprint, but MUCH cheaper and easily available! Any colour will do, it's out of sight when in use.
As to size, in final form (as in cut, or folded to size), it needs to be around 100mm (4") smaller on all sides than the tent ground plan. This it to stop rain running down tent wall and onto TOP of footprint, which would partially defeat the purpose of footprint to keep SIG dry for easy packing up of tent. It should NOT protrude out from under tent at ANY point.
Often worth putting eyelets at corners to peg footprint down (use mushroom headed pegs to protect SIG), it makes positioning tent correctly a bit easier. DIY eyelets available from most camping outlets, ebay etc.
