HI there
New here - just back from a weeks camping in Norfolk where we got very wet sadly. I have a Berghaus 4xl that myself and my son use. We've had it about 4 years and it probably gets used twice a year. for about 10 days total - so not loads.
When I was packing up this morning I discovered at the bottom of the the beam which runs over the bedroom compartments had a puddle .On further inspection I found water had seeped under the bedroom compartment and my matress had been sitting in a little puddle as well . So everything is wet   It seems the the edge of the fabric which holds the beam in place was 'dripping' water. I cant see any obvious holes and the beam access was firmly zipped. It also didn't appear wet further up . We have had significant rain all weel and last night the rian was really 'driving' on that side with the wind. On the outer shell the fabric on that side seemed ' wetter' than the far side - see pics ... I have called Berghaus this PM who were useless - they told me to ring blacks - also useless. So I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this and if the tent needs repiar or does it need re waterproofing?? and will that solve it - were camping again in Aug and worried if it rains were going to have wet bedrooms. I've attached pics which shows the bit of fabric that was dripping .and both sides of the tent shell .

Can't say for sure with yours, but often it's the over taping of seam stitching that starts to fail and allow leaks. It's a 'wicking' through the sewing rather than an actual 'hole' in many cases, so it may come in at one place, but appear as 'drips' elsewhere as it tracks.

When tent thoroughly dry, an application of seam sealant adhesive and reseating of tape can be very effective, but if the tapes are letting go, it's often a sign of more tape troubles to come elsewhere - a tube of seam sealant in your repairs kit may be wise!

Always worthy of consideration, is it an actual leak, or is it a puddling of condensation run off from inside the tent! In very wet conditions, an awful lot of condensation can build up! With an alternating of wet and dry periods, condensation tends to evaporate before it becomes a huge problem, but persistent wet periods just make it build and build!

It's reckoned each person creates from exhaled breath and sweat about 1 pint of water per night, which turns to condensation!

Hey thanks so much for advice .
Ive actually noticed its not just that post which is damp at the bottom - I appreciate it could be condensation .
But I agree thatit appears to be wet from the outside seeping through and gathering at one spot over an actual leak, just frustrating the worst was the one with the bedroom and it had all gone underneath without me realising . Incidently one side of the bedroom is wet and not the other - as I say that side of the tent was bearing the brunt of the rain also ...
Got the tent up in the garden to dry .
Ive looked at what i believe are the seams and there is a bit of difference - see pic, so I think I'll look to get some seam sealer and try that I assume its like a glue . That could also be the issue ...
