Topic: Best place to view tents on display?

We’re looking at buying a new, bigger tent. We like the look of the Berghaus Telstar 8 nightfall air tent, and the Berghaus Freedom 7 nightfall air tent.
We’re based in the South West not far from Bristol but struggling to find anywhere that has either of these on display due to their size. We’ve already contacted most Go Outdoors stores in the south and none have the room to display them.
I’m starting to think our best bet will be to have a wander around some campsites in the hope of finding them and then striking up conversation with the owners. Just wondered if anyone knew of anywhere that has either of these tents up on display? We saw the freedom 7 on our latest camping trip but never managed to see the owners with it so only saw it from the outside. We have viewed plenty of review type videos of both and ‘think’ we’re leaning towards the freedom 7 but would have been nice to physically see both first.

Could be a sign of the times, as there used to be tent shows all over the country - I remember attending one not too far from Wiltshire!

It may be wrong time of the year for tent shows though.

I would advise going to bigger shows with tents on display later in the year around October and early next year in February.

Have you tried Attwoolls? I think it's near Gloucester - so vaguely near Bristol.

Thank you, will keep an eye out for tent shows coming up.
I did try Attwoolls. They told me that Go Outdoors and their sister companies (blacks, millets etc) have exclusive rights to sell Berghaus so they can’t sell them.
I’ve discovered that go outdoors in Southampton have the freedom 7 on display but that’s a long way to go to view one tent!

Attwools have a great tent display
We went when we was.pooking for a new tent, we didn't buy there but we did get a good idea on what we was looking for in the end.
But like.you said they don't sale berghus tents.
We ended up buying from Norwich camping on-line
We seen 2 of the tents we ended up buying on a site on Cornwall in may, and liked them then and that's what ended up with (Outwell Woodlake 7atc) we love the tent and are really happy with it.
Currently away in it now (4 days into a 10 day trip)
We was reluctant to buy on line rather spend that sort of money in person etc. after talking to them on the phone and reading a lot of reviews on the dealer we was happy to purchase on line.
Do your homework and read the owners reviews etc and take your time making a decision.

Have you tried Taunton go out doors I know they had them for sale.but not sure if they was on display I didn't pay much attention as we wasn't looking at the tents more so sleeping bags and chairs.

Always worth approaching campers with a tent you fancy, most folk are happy to show you round. We did this a lot before getting the 'van. And get approached a lot too.

Hi, did you find anywhere to view these tents or where they had stock? I was thinking about the Telstar 8 but all out of stock now but would like to see them
