Hi all

I'm looking for a replacement front air beam for the awning of my tent. We bought this second hand 2 years ago and on the few occasions we have used it we have since found that the air beam is deflating over time. I have contacted Outwell to no avail as they don't stock spares as the tent is over 5 years old now. I have trolled the internet to no avail also and even contemplated buying a new awning if I couldn't find a new air tube. I love my tent and would like to keep it for many years yet but if i can't find a solution i don't know what i'll do!! My last resort is here to see if anyone has any ideas or even any spares items I'm looking for. Thanks for taking the time to rear this.

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes

New! Please upload a photo of your tent to the Tent Showcase!

Outwell are terrible for this sort of thing. Try Scottish Mountain Gear - expensive but helpful.

It's worth checking your valves - sometimes flysheet fabric can get caught in the assembly gubbins and stop the valve from seating cleanly.

If the interconnecting hoses are cleanly connected and don't look perished (this was a problem with early Kampa air beams, but unlikely for yours) it could be a puncture to the inner bladder.

You should be able to zip that out of the tent fabric and the structural outer sleeve. Some of these zips' runners will be secured with minute cable ties. You'll need to cut them. You can get new ones from Halfords.

Reattach the valves and you should be able to blow the bladder up a little bit. Use a bath or kitchen sink to look for leaks. If you find one, you can fix it with tape. Duct tape or McNett Tenacious Tape would be OK but Stormsure Tuff Tape is ideal.

Thank you for your help it’s greatly appreciated 👍. I did look at them but the tent is in really good condition and they don’t look at tents bigger than a small 4 man now. They couldn’t really help with my issue.
We will have to put the tent back up in the garden and thoroughly check the valves/tube etc. It was strange though as it’d stay up during the day but at night ( and after putting extra air in) would deflate by morning.
The people we bought it off weee honest and genuine and never had a problem with it so strange. It’s so annoying as it’s a great tent!
