Our much loved Outwell Hartford S has gone to heaven. I am gutted as overall it is still a great tent no damage, not even a pole split!!! But camping a month ago the center point leaked a little from an unexpected downpour. It had been sprayed prior to the camping trip with waterproofing. Went camping again this weekend and again an unexpected hailstone downpour the sun for the rest of the weekend and the center just couldn't handle the weight of rain do had a puddle inside.

I had to put away damp (scout weekend I just wanted to go home and shower) and got it back out in garden to fully dry. I went to spray the seams again to fully dry before going away....but noticed all the tape on the seams of outter cover are disintegrating of loosing their 'stick' so I can't imagine this is going to last much longer. After nearly 10years I don't think Outwell will stock replacement covers and can't trust buying a secondhand one as they are probably all coming to this point now!

ANYWAY...I love the sewn in ground sheet, pitch inner first and the dome shape with rooms coming off central communal area. What would you recommend as a replacement tent similar style to the Hartford.

We looked at a zempire Aerodrome 2 pro air tent, has a central living area with sleeping pods to each side with a living area/enclosed porch to the front. Pricey at £2000, but looked a really good quality tent. We would of gone for it but we ended up deciding that we would put grow it to quickly ended up staying with Outwell and getting the Woodlake 7atc. Amazing tent and can't recommend it enough !!

Thanks for the feedback. I don't really want to go air tent and I need it to be reasonably okay to erect on my own like I can with the hartford.

I was so against air tents untill I started to actually realise that they do stand up to the wind and rain just as good if not better. We camped in a Polycotton steel polled tent for about 10 years, never ever felt like the tent was going to let us down.
Was a big change to swap to air polycotton. But now I'm glad we did
I can put our new air tent up on my own if I had to. Much easier than poles be it steel or fibreglass poles.

You can use Seam sealant if the rest of the fly isn't delaminating.
