Hi, I'm thinking about getting a second hand tent for travelling either alone or with one of my grown up daughters, or a friend. Which tents are not only easy to erect for 1 person but also cheap. The family tent is a vango icarus 600 just for reference.thanks for reading. ⛺️

Have a look at the Backpacking section - photos & recommendations there, some might be suitable. You might be better getting 2 one-person tents rather than both squeezing into one - you’ll need a (bigger = heavier) 3 person tent for 2 people.

2024 = 20 sites / 41 nights. 2023 = 9/23. 2022 = 13/35. 2021 = 11/29. 2020 = 4/20. 2019 = 13/35. 2018 = 20/33. 2017 = 10/22. 2016 = 19/33. 2015 = 15 sites / 27 nights. Didn't count 1976 to 2014.

Ok I'll take a look thank you ☺️ I've looked through a few posts and there where 2 suggested, vango galaxy and I can't recall the other but thank you ☺️ I would prefer only 1 tent so thinking 3 man for extra space for the dog.

Ah! You didn’t mention the dog! Depends how big it is, as to whether you can both fit in a one person tent. Westie - yes. Pyrenean mountain dog - probably not. They’ll keep you toasty warm at night, and they’re a good way of striking up a conversation with people walking by (if you want).
