Hi

We purchased the Bordeaux6 XLZG  earlier this year, only had the chance to use it once and we were not dissappointed with it. Its a fantastic tent, it stood up to very heavy rain and wind without any problems. We had been looking to get an Outwell tent, went back to purchase and decided to have another look at the displays, the Royal caught our eye, it was not up in the displays before, and we were swayed. It has massive space and headroom (hubby is 6'3"), we also purchased the carpet, which we thought was a luxury, but was wellworth it. We trawled the internet for our tent which cost us £399, which was alot cheaper than the shop we were going to get it from and £69 for the carpet, but it has been money well spent, there are usually only 3 of us, so we have lots of luxury and space, what more could we ask for, its even a pleasure to be in when the weather is horrendous.

Chris

We had a Biarritz 6 and it served us well for many holidays both in torrential rain and cold in Scotland and the heat of the Mediterranean. It never leaked, got blown down nor torn. It was quite simply, briliiant. It was so good that when a friend wanted to try camping I lent them the wonderful Biarritz so they could have a good experience. That was the last I saw of the tent! I have since "downsized" to a Memphis 5 and although a more basic design it has all the attributes of the larger Royals and is a very practical little tent . With the quality and vfm Royal tents provide I see no point in buying a more expensive make.

I don't just appreciate Royal tents I love 'em.

Hi

Just found this thread while doing a search for something else so thought I would add my appreciation to it.

We have a Royal Avignon 4 Select SG tent and love it. Its roomy and well made and has nearly everything we could ask for - 2 things that could make it better -windbreak sides for the canopy like the new Bordeaux 6 has and if it was Polycotton like the new Winnipeg!!! - can't have everything I guess.

I have also just ordered a Royal Flash 2 Pop Up Tent for my son to use as a pup tent. Hopefully this will be as good as our main tent.

Only downside I would say about Royal is that their website isn't up to much. I'm sure if they did more promotional material like Outwell does they would have a lot more buyers.

Thumbs up to Royal here

Resurrecting an old thread! Am searching for a second hand tent tall enough to stand up in, and found a Royal Wichita (pictured) for £45 in the town where I live. I'm pretty interested but I can't find a single bit of information about that particular model anywhere! I don't know whether or not it's been discontinued for many years, but would love to hear from anyone who has/had one so I can ask a few questions.

Thanks in advance!

Royal Barcelona 6 here, best tent I've had and room for the five of us with loads to spare, long trips, weekends, used it for all. Couple of pics of mine floating around. Only thing I'd change if buying now - make it inflatable! Layout is great and I'd want same layout in the next tent we get as well
