Hi, am new to this camping lark.

and me and the OH are looking at purchasing either the Vango Venture 500 or the Coleman Vermont 5 mainly for weekends with our 2 kids.

Any feedback on these would be appreciated

Ok tents.

With 4 of you, you may find them a might tight squeeze. I also find both these tents have too lower porch/living area - but that is just a preference.

The style is very common, hence, if you want something slightly bigger around the same price also look also at something like the Campus Amazon. As said, the style is a common one - there is also the cadiz and the Campus Harvard.

Otherwise, perfectly good tents.

Hi

Don't know the Coleman but you might find the Vango a little small. Although they say sleeps five we are talking five very small people. If you think of clothes and all the bits you'll take with you it'll be VERY cosy and if it rains...... But if you only plan to use it for weekends then be careful what you choose so that it's quick to put up and take down

Whatever tent you decide to go for have a good look round on the internet to compare prices they can vary tremendously. On some tents I've looked at I've seen differences of £50-£100. Obvious I know but watch P&P.

Also look at Easycamp tents they're made by Outwell. Campus are made by Khyam.

If you are looking for things to go with a tent we've just bought a rolling table (sounds strange but slatted top which folds) and two chairs from B&Q for £20 reduced from £30. They all fit neatly into little carry bags.

Good Luck

Jen

hi. i think you will find these a bit cramped. and the coleman a bit drafty. if you like the look of the coleman range, for about the same money, id go for the bi space range. you can get a bi space 400 (2004 model) for 70pounds on the web. others to look for with plenty of space and walk in highth are the easycamp taranto 500 (with mud flaps)and the creepy crawly free easycamp napoli 500 (built in groundsheet)
