Hi, we started camping last year, 2 adults and 3 kids with a coleman weathermaster, kids in either end, us in the middle.  It got a bit cramped particuarly if we needed to be inside because of the weather.

Friends bought a Diablo 900 which was impressive but we thought a little big for us so we bought (unseen) the 600.  It is a great tent but I think still a little big (the bigger it is the longer it seems to take to put up) I wondered about the 400, again, kids in the pods us in the middle but big enough to eat inside?

My main concern is that the girls sleep on a double blow up bed which fits comfortably in the pod on the 600 (should do, it is meant to sleep 3) will it still fit if we go for the 400?  And is the main dome really big enough to sit around/eat in if we have to?

Advice welcomed.

We have the 400 and a double lilo will fit in either pod comfortably with no room at the sides but about 15 inches to spare at the top or bottom. The `central living are is excellent with loads of space for tables chairs etc without craming or hindering movement. I think that the porch on the 400 is almost identical to the 600.

I would guess that the two tents are identical to pitch, same number of poles etc its just that on the 600 they are a bit longer. If the length of time it takes to pitch the tent is crucial to you I do not think going for the 400 will speed it up much.

I would have the 600 for the extra room. in particular in the bedroom pods which because of the slope I thought were a bit claustraphobic.

The Vango website has the floorplans. http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/directory2/details.asp?revid=213&typeid=

We did not think the porch was important when we were buying  a tent but the big porch on the  600 is fantastic for storing thinks especialy when its wet.

Thanks, i have the 600 but am considering downsizing, we only usually go away for one or two nights so the quicker to pitch the better.
