Yeap, stopped off at Millets this morning and picked up the last Vango Venture 500 they had in the sale at just under £90.

Can't wait to try it out.

Once again, thanks for all the help.

I've just pitched my new Vango Venture 500 for the first time in my garden and it takes two Coleman comfort double air beds (side by side) no problem.

As a newbie to camping I can give the newbie's first impression of this tent. It took quite a while for my wife and me to pitch, but that was only because we were reading the instructions at every stage. In reality though it was quite easy, and I think (hope) the next time will be much faster. The only minor difficulty we encountered was feeding the diagonal poles through the pole sleeves because there are metal collars joining the different sections of the pole and they kept snagging on the sleeves. But once we had fed these through it was relatively easy to shape the fly sheet and peg it out. Once this was done we rapidly hooked up the inner tent onto the fly sheet (no further tent pegs required) and laid out the inner ground sheet.

When we finally got the tent was up, it struck me as being quite large and well designed. The quality of the tent also seemed surprisingly good considering it cost less than £90. All in all I'm very pleased I went with this tent and I'm really looking forward now to trying it out in Cornwall in less than a week's time.

I hope it's as easy to take down and pack away.

We got the same tent we used it for the first time a couple of weeks ago at chapel hill. Our two children loved it and by the way holded up well in a thunder storm no leaks at all.

My two children camped out in the garden last night and they loved it.

One thing I noticed when I was looking to buy a new tent is that there weren't that many pictures of the tents on the internet, most dealers tend to use the same standard manufacturer's pictures. For people like myself who have to buy from the picture because they don't live close to a tent show site, this can be a bit of a problem. If anyone is considering the Vango Venture 500, I have put some pictures of my first pitch at the following link:
