We are looking to buy one of these tents. I have seen various prices. Does anyone know the best price for this at the moment and also what happens if you need to claim under the guarantee if it was bought on the net? We do not live near any stockists so would have to have one delivered. Hope someone can help! Thanks!

The best price I have seen is £265 (inc. p&p) on Ebay, from a camping shop - they run the advert regularly.
Online retail sites I have seen it at £300. Have not seen it in the shops - just not looked for it there, thats all. The dilema is that the 700 is also £300 form some retailers, so do you go 500 or 700.
Lovely tent and if it was not so big packed I would get one without hesitation (at the mo, I am only a weekend camper and can not be bothered with a topbox, just for a weekend).

Hi Big Bunny, thanks for the help! We only intend using the tent for short breaks and there are only 3 of us so the 500 should be plenty big enough I hope! We sold our caravan last year and don't miss it at all for our main holidays but do miss our weekends etc. we have borrowed a tent and have been amazed at how good they are now! Do you know anyone who has bought a tent from ebay? We were a little concerned about how we claim under a guarantee if faulty especially if we had to pay p&p!!
For 3 of you, for a weekend, it has way enough space - they are great. Very comfy.
Just be aware that this tent weighs 40kg! and is huge when packed, so be prepared to transport it.
As for buying on Ebay - there are lots of comments on the subject already - do a search. It looked like a shop selling the tent, so do your research on who they are and how much you will be able to trust their service. If you are still unsure of them, then for £35 diference, don't take the risk.

We have bought a couple of tents from ebay ,from a seller called wildiety ( the ebay outlet for a well know camping store called Wildday ) and had no problems ,I think the danger lies in ebay only sellers and ebay only tents !
Do your research and if you see something on ebay suitable ,ask on here ,people will give you an opinion based on their experience ect to try to help you make the right decision
Also tho dont hold too much faith in the 'Vango lifetime gaurentee' as a tents leftime is only expected to be a few years anyway and every thing you buy is covered for 6 years (I think its 6 ) if the item can be expected to last that long so your covered anyway ! its just Vango give a fancy name to a right that you have as a customer anyway!
the missus and i have just been away for the first time in our aspen 700. Loads of space. I compared it to a 500 on the camp site which someone had and i'm glad i got the 700. The price difference was only £30 between them. It is no difference in putting them both up.Like BG said they are quite heavy and bulky but they are worth it.
Have got the tent now, we decided to go to our nearest supplier who matched internet price as Vango informed me that all returns/faults should go via dealer, thanks for all your help!!!
