We're newbie to camping. Originally a month back we bought a Gelert Satellite 6, but on second viewing before we tried it out, we thought the bedrooms were tiny, although you could fit the QE2 in the living room.
Anyways, we swaped it for a Gelert Quebec 8+ 4, with lovely SIG. AS it was a lovely day today, Tim and I had a go at putting it up. The instructions are so crap, you really do have to work it out for yourself, and after a little hiccup first attempt, bendin the poles into place, we got the bugger up.
I guess I just wanted to say how amazingly easy this tent is put up and what great space. I remember frame tents from a kid and they seemed like endless hard work.
In my twenties, I used to go for drunken weekend in a little 2 man Eurohike dome tent (cost £75 then!) - and to be honest apart from being bigger, it seemed straightforward.
This site has been a great help getting ideas, and solving problems we think we might have. We are DESPERATE to go camping now - but I don't do cold!!!!!
Thanks for all the advice so far!!
Claire
