I'm sure that those who own these tents will be able to give you loads of good advice. I've only seen them up in displays and we were originally taken by the Diablos but didn't really like them when we saw them up. It was the pod (sleeping) spaces we didn't like as they seemed quite small and the sides sloped. In the end we bought a more expensive Outwell Nebraska xl, which gives us the porch space, living area and 2 x 4 birth inners which we can easily stand up (including my 13 year old who is taller than me and still growing!)
It's worth finding somewhere to see them on display and look for yourself - it gives you more of an idea.
Virtually the only difference in these two tents is the bedroom pods. The Brekenridge has an extra pole per pod so it doesn't slope nearly as sharply as it does in the Diablo.
We had the same dilemma and went for the Brekenridge. Fabulous tent and currently the 2005 model can be bought at a fraction of the new Khyam price.

We looked at both tents and had the same thoughts. In the end we went for the diablo and have no complaints about the tent. However we only have 2 people in a pod and I think if there were 3 the one at the edge would endup sleeping with a flysheet in their face especially after you take the airbed into account.
Don't think you will be disapointed by either tent.

If you take your time pitching the diablo then you will be seriously impressed by it and there shouldn't be a problem with the pods if someone is inside when pegging out. It's warm and very light and airy the porch is perfect if you dont want to take a utility tent with you.
The diablo is excellent as the porch and living area are huge so you've got space where you need it. I can vouch for it standing up to gale force winds and horizontal Welsh rain.
Comments about the bedrooms are valid. They do slope a lot so to sleep the correct way around someone will end up with the inner in their face. we actually had to turn a double air bed around so that our heads were sticking out of the bedroom for this reason.
I've just bought the Vango Aspen 500 as well and it is AWESOME. They do a bigger one so check it out if it's not too late.
Not familiar with the other model so sorry, can't help there.
We have a 900 and it suits us (family of 4) just fine. Had ours for 2 seasons now and its still in great shape, can't wait to get away again this year!!!
When we were lookin 2 years ago the main choice was the diablo or the hartford, now there seems to be a lot more choice so really I would suggest go with your instincts.
Good luck
