Hi Rich C

If you have done a search on Coleman Columbia then I am sure you know all about my tale of woe trying to put it up at first!!  But once we sussed it we were so impressed with this tent...loads of room in lots of respects...and handy porch area...

We are only two adults and one child but we felt we needed the spare room for storage on longer trips and also on occasions when we take niece and nephew with us...

See my pics in my gallery...

Only been as far as the garden so far...but 8sleeps until we take the tent on it's maiden voyage!

Yes we did see your posts and that is really what is putting me off. I dont fancy having a tent that is a real pain to put up. Still looking and so far it is still favourite

Hi Rich C...

It was the instructions that were dreadful...and also we are used to putting up frame tents with canvas covers...which meant we were approaching things in totally the wrong direction...

Thanks to the helpful comments from loads of people on here we managed to put the tent up...and have had it up again for another trial run since then...we are really impressed with the tent now that we have had the chance to sleep out in it in the garden!

Hi Rich C

We chose the diablo 900 as our family tent, been v impressed with it and will use it till it drops.  My advise is to make sure you know what you want to get out of your tent (weekend away only or mixed with long hols), we were always dubious about taking the diablo away for weekend breaks but after some experience at pitching we have got it down to a fine art (hardly argue now) and so we go just where and when.

Good luck with your camping, take care

Hi Cliff n Pat

That is about a third of my parents garden that you see in the photo...unfortunately the other two thirds were not suitable for pitching tent due to vegetable patches, clothes poles etc...hence the fact we had to pitch the tent in that open area where everybody walking past could laugh at our pathetic attempts to pitch the tent over that first woeful weekend(see previous thread)...

But yeah...the garden is great...I was trying to persuade my mum to open it to tents this weekend for the Big Radio One Bash that is being held in Dundee...smaller festival tents would fit easily in the other two thirds of the garden...we could have made a small fortune as there are no hotel rooms in Dundee left for festival goers...
