I put the new tent up today, couldn't wait any longer! . It's starting to rain and I've tried 4 times to get it back in the bag and I can't! I've got the tent in put I've put the bedroom and groundheet in a black bag. I've got a gelert tent and that goes in no problem but this thing I can't get back in at all, think the neighbours will be glad it's starting to rain cause they wont need to listen to me going mad.

Why oh why do makers make the bags so tight!

You may have foded it wrong so try having a look at how it was folded before  the folds should still be on the ground sheet. The other probem might be to much air so try rolling it up agaian but making sure all the air is out. Thes are what normally causes me this problem.

Makers probably make the bags so small so they can say how neat and small you can get it down to!

Drives me totally mad. I usually put it in a larger bag until I get it home, then eventually get it in the original bag.

Takes me several days, on and off.Language not always the best, to be honest!

And a wet tent to pack away? Total nightmare!!

I hate to have to say this, but I've never yet bought a tent which came in a big enough bag. Over the years Gardners of Wakefield have had steady trade in solving the problem. Get a bigger bag!

We've had this problem.  We started putting tent in original bag and using large roll type bag for bedroom pods and groundsheet.  Takes up more room but makes leaving campsite easier.

Have just bought a Lichfield 6 DL - haven't been away yet but when trying out tent in the garden it went back in original bag (hurray!!).  Probably worked because bag is actually like 2 bags joined together.

Hi Stewey, that's a good idea   I've given up trying, I've huffed and puffed, got downright mad as hell and swore like a trooper but it wont go back in so tomorrow I'm going to priceless!

Yep, get a bigger bag. The Isabella awning bags come in different sizes and are good quality, with a zip top, make easy work of packing up tents:

The secret is in finding the right sequence of folds to get it down to the correct width to fit in the bag, and then squeezing like buggery to get all the air out as you roll it up.

But if you've got the space a larger bag could save a lot of effort
