Hiya!

I am looking for a new tent but i want a decent one that will last!  There will be (for this year anyhow) 3 adults and 1 child using it but as from next year there will also be a baby.  I want a sig so it will be warmer for the baby, but not one that pitches inner first.  There also needs to be a good size living space so little one can play when its raining!

I was looking at the outwell montana 6 and also the hartford xl but i'm not sure?  There isn't any tent displays round here either so getting to see them up is a nightmare!

Can anyone make any suggestions?  much appreciated!

One with a SIG that does not pitch inner-first will be the biggest limitting factor - off the top of my head:

• Vango Aurora 600/800 DLX
• Outwell Montana 6
• Outwell SunValley 6/8
• Outwell Nebraska XL

As a few have said in other forums, getting one with a porch to park a muddy pram might be wise, hence, the Montana might be less than ideal.

Sunncamp have a lot of new tents with SIGs, but I don't know how they pitch. Hartfords, by the way, pitch inner first.

I see that tent show advertised but unfortunately we are away then so won't be able to go...thank you anyway :o)

Big Bunny - Thank you! I will have a look at those you mentioned.  I never even thought about space for a muddy buggy!! 

the montana 6 has a side porch and lots of space with large bedrooms, you can stand up in the bedrooms as well which makes a difference. it has a sewn in groundsheet so much warmer and no escaping children! can be pitched all together if its raining but it only seems to rain when you're putting it away!

Are there any campsites near you? perhaps you could have a look at the tents on them instead. Best to see them up if you can as most "6" berths only sleep 4 comfortably with airbeds in.

thank you for all your suggestions!!  We are trying to find a display so we can go look at them now, been offered a hartford xl for £18 and its only been used twice so it may just be a winner!  save us a few pound anyhow! lol
