Last year we brought a new wynnster 12, but never saw it up, it was a nice tent but the bedrooms were to low and freaked our disabled daughter out.

We have been looking at the outwell nebraska xxl & the sunncamp family vario 900. Any ideas at what might be best, it needs to be nice and bright, there is 6 of us all together but would like a porch for wheelchair storage .

Thanks

Hi

I would say the best thing to do is go to the camping shops with daughter and wheelcahir and try out the tents on display.  That way if your daughter is ok with the tent and you can fit the wheel chair in then you will know that is the tent for you all.

I hope that suggestion helps as I cant think of anything else that you could do.

Any Outwell tent. Great quality. Probably the dome tents will be best for you. We bought the Colorado 8. It has a  3-1 berth at one end and a 2-2 berth at the other. The 2-2 berth has a removeable middle sheet to make one 4 berth.

Th Montana range has a sewn in ground sheet (SIG) When we upgrade we will probably go for this, (though Outwell may have something new by then) BUT - you may have trouble getting the wheelchair over the groundsheet at the entrance. - Keep this in mind when you do go to buy. - You can buy add on porches for the Outwell range.  Good luck.

Great idea  by Jo90 to take your daughter to see the tents.

The Vango Aspen style of tent, and its Sunncamp equiv the Oasis, all have excellent bedroom hight. lots of light and the comfort of a full SIG so are worth a look.

The XXL has three bedrooms, one of which you can stand up in throughout and the other two slope slightly at the back, but all bedrooms are quite a good size. There is plenty of room in the tent and an excellent large porch. It`s quite a nice bright tent and it`s well worth a look at and will probably suit your needs.

Further to my last note. When you said your daughter didn't like the way your tent sloped down in the bedroom, did she sleep with her head in the low area?

Tent makers show sleepers in that position but we sleep with our heads near the bedroom entry.  If she was to sleep that way only her feet would be in the narrow part.

Sorry if you have already thought of this.

I think if you have a wheelchair to store its a no brainer.....The nebraska hands down...there is no other tent I can think of with a porch like it...

-------------
Its not the size of the tent...its how you pitch it..
