at this time i have a 9 man pro-action tent only put it up once went up well with a little help from the guys on hear ;)

but not to keen on how low the bedrooms are or how dark it is even in the sun.

The problem is

I am 6.6ft tall

Disabled so need a wheel chair and crutches

I can’t stoup or crawl so need good head height even in the bedrooms

Don’t drive so need to watch size and weight of tent

(The tent we have now about 25kg)

Tent berth size 6 up as four people + stuff

Budget is 3-350 ish but will go higher if a perfect tent for us comes up

Kind regards

Wheels

Our Montana 6 is over 2.15m in the living area and 2.05m in the bedroom. Its packed away into 2 separate bags each weighing 17 kilos, so its a bit over your spec; the main bag does have wheels on though. But, and I know I am biased here, we looked at a lot of tents before upgrading to ours and the space inside the Montana 6 is just so practical. And, for such a big tent, its a absolute doddle to put up.

The only drawback I imagine is having to step over the sewn in groundsheet at each door.

Have you considered the Gelert Utah?  You'd still have the SIG lip which a small ramp would deal with, but the design means a really high head height

Hi there, and welcome!!  We have just upgraded our tent after a very wet weekend.  I was recommended the following:-

The columbia 10,is on special offer from united british caravans for £130 has to be the best bargain  this year. 3 bedroom tent with sewn in groundsheet, and big living area. you won't buy something similar second hand for this price. I think they're last years stock. Lots of members have bought them and been very pleased with them. I'd get one of these quick if you want sewn in gs.

We did get one, as Debbie kindly suggested and it came next day delivery, we have put it up in the garden and it is fabulous - we are a family of 4 and it has 3 double bedrooms, and plenty of living space and height as my hubbie is over 6ft tall.  It did take us about an hour to put up but it was first time.  Looking forward to taking it out soon.

Good luck - hope this helps

thanks
Sandra

I agree the columbia 10 is a great tent, (m in law has one) but would the sloping bedroom pods cause a problem?

Some posts have mensioned the raised lip on a sig (problem for wheelchair) but am I right in thinking you're able to walk with crutches? (hence needing good head room) If so I would also recommend the monty 6 which is in your budget and split into 2 bags to keep weight down. Of course I'm probably being bias (cos I've got one) but they're fantastic quality and brilliant use of space.
